Doble Post: Friends

The last time I made the post in italian but I was to lazy for translate everything in english..until now!

23 November:
I feel tired but happy about how the things are going here in Bucharest.
The work with children is starting to improve and I'm learning step by step spanish, romanian and improving my english.

The best things about this weekend were: The Polish dinner, the "Dinner" with AEGEE-Bucharest and 007.

The polish dinner was amazing: some polish erasmus invite us to a dinner in their place for eat Pierogi, a tipical kind of "Pasta" with different ingredients inside like onions, potetoes, cheese, etc, drink Vodka and taste some tipical dishes they have. Also we were listening traditional music and polish music, passing by some trash music and Disco Polo ( a category of music that seems like 90's music).

In the same day, I went to the "dinner" ( non properly at dinner cause I came late) organized by A-Bucharest.
A cool house with an awesome party an an italian guy that was with 3 bottles of Limoncello ( a tipical italian liquor).

Furthermore thanks to the weather gave by autumn, I had the possibility to visit at the best the National Museum in Park Herastrau ( the biggest park in Bucharest).
This Museum is a reconstruction of all the old houses of all Romania, from Timisoara until Costanta, From Baia Mare until calarasi.
It was so interesting and also so cheap, indeed the museum costs only 2.5 Lei ( 0.55€)

On Friday I went in a part of the city I didn't visit before, and, with the polish people, we went to see 007 the movie ( english with romanian subtitles).
The mall was awesome: the cinema was in a big spheric structure and in the middle of the mall there was places where to make ice skating, a little river and the walls were decorated to appear like inside a cave.

Also I tried a kind of Ciorba de Legume ( soup of vegetables) served inside a big piece of bread.
In Romania, this dish, is considered quite traditional :)

Sometimes I remember to write!

The autumn is near to finish here in Bucharest and all the trees are losing the amazing colors that this season gave to them.

The work with the children is becoming easier day by day, also if the focus sometimes is lost when you realize to be in an awesome capital that still don't know perfectly.

The topic of the week for example was "Carnevalul de toamna" ( the carnival of autumn) where we had fun working and making laboratories creating drawings and painting the leaves.

Between football matches and visiting the parcs in Bucharest, I've spent my first month here.

Another Week in Awesome Romania

It's passed a week from the last post.
Another great week in Romania and I feel like this country can become really my second home.
We spent another week in the kindertgarden but thanks to our free time, we take easily the possibility to see the city and enjoy a beer in a pub or enjoy a park when it's sunny.

Unfortunatly when we were in Busteni, as probably a lot of you saw, in Bucarest happened a bad episode of the club that burned, killing 32 persons, during a rock concert.
From this, people starts protesting in the city centre of the city fighting versus the corruption and the government.
During these protests, that took place all this week, the first minister left the place, and people obtained their victory.

Now everything is going again in the right way and everything is back to normality.

We had the possibility to enjoy at the best this week visiting the Park Nicolae Grigorescu and playing football with people that we meet in one of the field where you can play for free.
Also, in the city centre, we discover a place where you can smoke Shisha, the egiptian instrument to smoke, and see the belly dancers without beeing so expensive. We were also with a lot of beautiful girls, so probably is for this that I'm talking well about the place!

The same day I felt again the frendly atmosphere that rumenian people gives with a guy that helped us showing us the buses and giving us the taxi number, and the taxi drivers that starts to joke with us in italian, english and hungarian...yeah I didn't understood nothing of the last one.

Making the romanian lessons we learned:

Niciodata = Never
Cum se spune? = What did you say?
De Ce? = Why?
Asta = This
Aia = That
Atunci = Then
Azi = Today
Ce mai Faci? = What Else?

Also I'm starting to understand seriously spanish...At least I have to understand my three spanish flatmates!
Poor Me!

On Arrival Training

In the previous week, all the european volunteers that live in Romania, were present to a training about "Non-Formal Education".

This "Youth Exchange" inside the EVS took place in Busteni, a small village 3 hours far, by train, from Bucharest.

The event was amazing!
We were sleeping in a hotel 3 stars with a double room for each volunteer, party every night, incredible food and sessions very detailed and constructive.

This week passed so fast between a workshops and activities, talking about Romanian culture, how to travel in Romania, the role of the volunteer and of the bodies in an EVS Project, etc.

Around 80 volunteers were present from all over the Europe.
I would like to talk about something more specif, but the most part of my memories is deleted by parties of the training.

The curiosity of Busteni is not the village, cause is quite small and actually is just the main street to be considered the village of Busteni, but the landscape that you can find there,
The city is quite famous for skii and the Iron Cross, tall around 40 meters, on the top of the montain that shine during the night and is visible during night from the village.
The best attractives of the city were the Monastery, a peaceful place under the montains, and the Castle.
The first is for free ( but I don't know if you can enter inside ) and about the castle, you have to pay 5 Lei for the Garden, good but small, and 25 for enter inside the Castle with the touristic guide.

After the Training, some volunteers, went to Brasov.
When I arrived there, I understood why people say that Brasov is the heart of Transilvania.
An incredible place divided by hills and 2 city centre, one old and one modern.
I discovered also that in Brasov there is a write very similar to the one present in the hill of Hollywood.

There was some of my friends that helped us a lot founding the accomodation and showing us the city.
I'm really appreciatiating how the people in romania is very different from the people usually use to think and beeing so sociable.
